The 1970 Dodge Challenger is a muscle car classic. Originally conceived by Dodge (part of Chrysler Motors at the time) as a midsize muscle car to compete with the popular Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro. Hence the word "Challenge". They certainly got it right. The iconic design features a chiseled physique that commands attention. And with the all powerful Hemi V8 engines the Dodge Challenger had loads of muscle. In 1971 the movie "Vanishing Point" turned the car into a legend with Barry Newman, a pill-popping auto delivery driver, attempting to drive his 90 Dodge Challenger from Denver to San Francisco in less than 20 hours.

The Chevrolet Camaro is an American muscle car created by Chevrolet in the fall of 1966 with first sales in the 1967 model year. General Motors designed the car as a sporty alternative to the highly popular Ford Mustang. It wasn't long before the Camaro, with it's unique styling, began to create a legacy of its own. Especially after appearing in many popular movies. For an interesting visual history of the Chevy Camaro visit an article by Car and Driver Magazine.
